About self-issuing Minutos

Most people are not used to issue their own means of payment, so this requires some rethinking.

For example, if we were to know that when we take out a loan, new money is created out of nothing and disappears again when we pay back the loan, then this process would be nothing special for most people.

With Minuto, the two guarantors take over the function of a bank, because with the signature and stamp the guarantors confirm that the publisher/creator of the Minuto is trustworthy and can also provide a service. Therefore, this process must also be somewhat more elaborate to ensure the security.

With a normal loan, the bank wants to have additional collateral, the creditworthiness must be determined, etc. and even very high fees are charged for this in the form of interest and this process is much more elaborate and complicated than the creation of Minuto vouchers.

How to issue Minutes

Structure of a Minuto voucher

Of course, to get started, you need a few people to create and spend Minuto. If you don't have a network of people who use Minuto yet you can invite some people to play the Minuto Game.

Download the Minuto voucher template from our templates page and print it out. There are 6 vouchers on each template, each one with a different nominal value. Cut them out and fill them in as shown below.

Elements of a Minuto voucher

(1) Nominal value:
This is the value in minutes of qualitative performance of human working time.

(2) Validity:
Enter the last year of validity of the voucher into this field. New Minuto are valid for 5 years. (e.g. Minuto from 2022 are valid until 2027 (current year + 5)).

Important: Own Minutos, which are valid less than 3 years, may not be spent and must be destroyed. Only Minuto from other issuers may still be passed on until they come to their issuer, who then may not spend them again but must destroy them.

(3) Region:
The region helps to quickly identify where the Minuto comes from, so enter the region (postal code recommended) where you as the issuer come from.

(4) Voucher issuer:
Put your stamp in this field and legally confirm it with date and your signature.

(5)(6) Guarantors:
One female and one male guarantor stamps and signs here with date and signature.

Back side
Use the back side of each voucher to publish more information on your offer, advertisement, quotes or other ideas there. Use your template to speed up this process.

See the template page for more useful templates and handouts.

Now you are ready to use your Minutos to buy goods and services of other people who accept your vouchers.
